Collaborative mixtape between J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar is set to take place. Hmmm..
Personally, I think it’s a hit or miss. It may be a hit for the simple fact that (MINUS MYSELF) J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar share the same fan base. Now, it may be a miss because neither Cole nor Lamar have a big enough following to bring the other one up. In my opinion, J. Cole is just getting on. He needs to keep the people wanting more. If K. Lamar is not what the people want, they may not check for the compilation. That’s coming from a J. Cole fan. I am excited about the project to see what everyone has to offer. Lyrically, they are beastly. Beat choice, producer choice and chemistry may become the only issue. Read some of the J. Cole interview off HipHopDX and listen to the interview below.
“I just started working with Kendrick the other day,” revealed Cole in an interview with Hot 97.5′s . “We got it in, finally, again. [It's gonna be an] album, man,” he clarified.
“We actually worked, bouncing ideas, which was great. The vibe was so good that it was like, man, that’s absolutely gonna happen,” he added.
“We got maybe four or five [songs] together.”
