I couldn’t help but notice my Instagram going crazy over a picture posted by former University of Miami basketball player and Wheeler High alum (GO WILDCATS!) Dequan Jones. The picture appears to be Jones shopping with (what I thought was) family. As I read the caption, I was in complete shock:

“I remember how hard it was for my mom to get me everything I needed for back to school, so I went in Walmart and found a single mom and offered to buy all her daughters back to school supplies. Was the greatest feeling in the world. Moral of the story, when you’re blessed be a blessing to someone else.”

Yes! This young man took this random lady on a shopping spree to help her out with her back to school shopping for her little girls. Unlike celebs, he didn’t do it for publicity seeing as he’s just a regular guy like you and me. Look at the happy face on the little girl in the pink. We need more black men like this in the world! I hope he inspires more people to do good deeds!
